Week 15 delivered significant consequences across the NFL, as multiple teams absorbed season-altering injuries while others saw their postseason hopes officially come to an end. The weekend’s results and medical updates reshaped both conference races with only a few weeks remaining in the regular season.
Kansas City confirmed Monday that quarterback Patrick Mahomes underwent successful surgery in Dallas to repair a torn left ACL and LCL. Mahomes sustained the injury during the Chiefs’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The procedure officially ends his season and marked a turning point in Kansas City’s campaign, as the team was eliminated from playoff contention following Week 15.
Green Bay also suffered a major blow as an MRI confirmed star pass rusher Micah Parsons tore his ACL during Sunday’s 34-26 loss to the Denver Broncos. Parsons sustained the non-contact injury while pursuing quarterback Bo Nix in the second half and was helped off the field. The injury ends Parsons’ season and removes a cornerstone from the Packers’ defense.
In Washington, the Commanders announced quarterback Jayden Daniels will be shut down for the final three games of the 2025 season. Head coach Dan Quinn said the decision was “part medical, part team,” following Daniels aggravating an elbow injury in Week 14. Daniels, the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, endured multiple injuries throughout his second season but will continue to participate in practice.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams exited Sunday’s 41-34 playoff-clinching win over the Detroit Lions with a non-contact hamstring injury. Adams’ availability for the short-week matchup against Seattle remains in doubt, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Several teams were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15:
• Cincinnati Bengals (4-10)
• Minnesota Vikings (6-8)
• Kansas City Chiefs (6-8)
• Miami Dolphins (6-8)
Still alive but outside the playoff bracket:
• Baltimore Ravens (7-7)
• Dallas Cowboys (6-7-1)
• Carolina Panthers (7-7)
• Indianapolis Colts (8-6)
• Detroit Lions (8-6)
