Roster movement continued across the NFL on Monday as teams finalized additional signings, trades, and contract adjustments ahead of the next phase of offseason programs. With free agency still active and the 2026 NFL Draft approaching, organizations remain focused on depth building and financial flexibility.
Several teams addressed immediate roster needs through short-term deals, while others continued making strategic additions at key positions. The Kansas City Chiefs made one of the more notable moves of the day, acquiring quarterback Justin Fields via trade, while the Dallas Cowboys continued adjusting their defensive front following a recent acquisition.
Across the league, veteran additions and one-year contracts remained a common theme as teams looked to solidify rotational roles and special teams contributions.

Beyond roster movement, a notable career came to an end as six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay announced his retirement after 13 seasons. Slay recorded 28 career interceptions, 162 passes defended, and five defensive touchdowns while earning first-team All-Pro honors in 2017. He played for Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and briefly the Buffalo Bills, contributing to a Super Bowl-winning roster in 2024 with the Eagles.
Additional discussion around quarterback uncertainty also surfaced in Pittsburgh. Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson publicly addressed the ongoing decision timeline surrounding Aaron Rodgers, stating the organization should not delay roster planning while awaiting a decision.
"Is he gonna play? Listen, I get kinda tired of it," Woodson said during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. "Listen, if he's gonna play, say he's gonna play, he's gonna come back. And the team shouldn't wait for Aaron Rodgers. They need to move forward."
With continued roster movement, a high-profile retirement, and ongoing quarterback uncertainty in Pittsburgh, teams remain active in shaping their rosters ahead of offseason programs and the 2026 NFL Draft. Additional transactions are expected as clubs continue evaluating available talent and internal depth. Let's Talk About It!
