The NFL’s postseason continued to reshape the league’s offseason landscape as the Divisional Round concluded with another head coaching dismissal, officially pushing the 2026 coaching cycle to at least ten changes. That total ties for the most head coaching turnover in a single offseason, matching previous highs reached in 1978, 1997, 2006, and 2022.

Since the 2022 hiring cycle, instability has defined the league’s sidelines. Of the ten head coaches hired that year, eight have already been dismissed. Only Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell and Tampa Bay’s Todd Bowles remain in their roles, and both teams missed the playoffs during the 2025 season, leaving long-term questions unresolved.
