The NFL offseason continued to build momentum this week as several franchises finalized coaching staff additions, veteran players announced retirements, and league performance data identified the longest rushing touchdowns from the 2025–26 season.

Across the league, front offices focused on coordinator and position coach roles as staffs take shape ahead of free agency and the draft. The Atlanta Falcons hired former Los Angeles Rams special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn as assistant special teams coach. The Baltimore Ravens officially named Anthony Weaver as defensive coordinator and Anthony Levine as special teams coordinator. The Carolina Panthers added Darrell Bevell as associate head coach and offensive specialist.

Additional offensive staff moves followed. The Green Bay Packers elevated Luke Getsy to quarterbacks coach after his recent return as a senior assistant. The Miami Dolphins hired former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo as pass game coordinator. The New York Giants brought in Brian Callahan as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator after his previous head coaching stint in Tennessee.

Roster news also developed alongside the coaching cycle. Veteran offensive tackle Rob Havenstein announced his retirement after 11 NFL seasons. Wide receiver Miles Boykin, a 2019 third-round pick, also confirmed his retirement this week after stints with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. Boykin appeared in 73 career games with 25 starts, totaling 38 receptions for 498 yards and seven touchdowns.

• WR Miles Boykin — retired after 73 career games, 38 receptions, 498 yards, 7 TDs

The broader offseason takeaway is that staff structure and veteran turnover are advancing in parallel, shaping scheme direction and depth planning before major roster acquisition windows open. Coaching hires at coordinator and specialist positions often signal tactical adjustments that carry into training camp.

On-field performance metrics remain part of that evaluation process. According to Next Gen Stats, the longest rushing touchdowns of the 2025 season were led by Bijan Robinson with a 93-yard score in Week 17. Jonathan Taylor recorded runs of 83 and 80 yards, Robinson added an 81-yard touchdown, and Jahmyr Gibbs posted a 78-yard score — each significantly exceeding expected rushing yardage models.
